Really good game, fine for 11 and up.
This game is amazing, the violence is not as high as most games kids play like assassins creed, swearing is very limited, and there is nothing inappropriate whatsoever. This is a really good game. Get it.

Perfect
This game is so good. It has a great story, a massive open world and is not difficult. As far as child-friendliness goes, it is basically shooting arrows at robots. Infrequently there are poofs of blood as you fight humans, but it’s fine. My 12 year old played it and his 8 year old sister watched him and they both thoroughly enjoyed the story, as much as my son put off the story to do side missions and get collectibles. But honestly, get this game and let your kid play it.

Very original, engaging open-world game has some violence
Horizon is set in a very unique sci-fi world, where your character (Alloy) uncovers the secrets of her past whilst navigating the different conflicts of various primal tribes. The violence is mostly committed against machines, however human enemies will occasionally be fought. You can use a Speer, bows and bombs to defeat enemies witch some blood occasionally being shown (however not in excess). There is no profanity, consumerism or sexual content. The game explores a multitude of original themes and has a pretty bada*s main character making it a great game for teens and up if they can handle a little bit of blood.

Family...
In my house we really value family connections, and I have to say that I'm disappointed with the lack of value placed on those connections in the media. Enter this game... Strong themes about the value of family really impressed me. There is a lot of emphasis on maternal bonds which was awesome. I would encourage you to get this game for your kids if you value these values as well. This game takes the cake for the best game out there. There is mild profanity and violence but Common Sense makes it out to be way worse than it really is. GET THIS GAME

Hello Parents,If your child is 11+ this game will not only be appropriate for him, it will teach you kid problem solving, good morals, and a major dose of feminism. I cannot stress enough how good the puzzles in this game are and how much perseverance they can teach, they're akin to challenge's in Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Also, Aloy is an amazing female heroin that should be the benchmark for all female characters out there. Also, in a complex struggle for good and evil, several characters in this game stand out for always doing the right thing. In terms of age-appropriateness, I can understand that some parents will be put off by the mild profanity in this game, but I would urge you to overlook this for two reasons:1. The instances of bad language are very few and far between.2. This game is teach so many good things, and is such a blast in other area's, that while language is terrible, and I don't see why it's necessary,it can, and should, be totally overlooked as an unsatisfactory part of pretty much the best game out there. The violence can be intense, but again I will compare it to Breath of The Wild in that it can be frenetic and possibly a little scary, but never bloody or gory, and on top of that It isn't the focus of the game. So I would urge you to get you kid this game to find them hours of enjoyment and fun. Who knows, you might end up wanting a crack!

Highly entertaining
The story, animation and graphics are too of the line. The design art is a masterpiece. Beautiful panoramic viewing. The gaming soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal. The creation team of this game are all highly talented and I would like to see more of their productions

Skeptical newcomers will be pleasantly suprised amidst "hype signaling".
At the point of this review, gender swapping for "virtue points" is a pointless fad, even though we had Wonder Woman as a TV show since the 70s and multiple heroisns in TV shows and movies for literally decades. Let's forget that pointless, false feelgoodery and focus on content instead .I am an old school arcade guy, simply put, I want to get on with the plot and just have good old escapist fun. I have reviewed many games and do not put this lightly when I say, "this game is amazing". With the new 'story mode' setting implemented ANYONE with 2 thumbs and the slightest amount of patientce can find a difficulty mode to adjust to their playstyle and level. The first time I tried this years ago I lost interest as I was playing other games and didn't want to learn the tedium of sneaking around like a mouse. NOW, with easier modes and new content, I see that I should have given this more of a chance as I wasted my time with 'loot box' games and forgettable drivel. Hindsight and all.If your lucky, on Ebay I copped this for 7 bucks for the complete edition. I probably should have selected a higher difficulty, but I may reply this in the future. In short, I caught myself saying "wow" and "this game is awesome" more than once out loud to myself. The design of enemies and subtle details in weapon swapping and flow is a rare occasion where the developers got things down tight right out of the box. I have played ALOT of Zelda games and THIS feels like a more mature version of that formula where, enemies are a bit more aggressive, but depending on your difficulty setting, just as manageable. To be blunt, skilltrees and customizing don't matter if the fluid gameplay is lacking. I played God Of War, Spiderman and others on PS4 exclusives but have never been so compelled and engaged as I have here in years. As a gamer from the 80s who has seen it all, I hate Dark Souls type games with the "get good" philosophy of replaying hard levels for days, but here you get to choose that setting for yourself and either breeze through for the awesome content or ramp it up for challenge. Either way, details are irrelevant at a point, because this game truly does have all the elements of a great game and, dare I say, may surpass my nostalgic love for Zelda with it's fluid pace, great story and thoughtful design. For those on the fence, even at $20, this game is so easily accessible and engaging that it is a steal for anyone craving an adventure game. I mean, check my other reviews, I'm not an easy sale for media in general and this is a rare find.PS. In game scenarios where you have to make moral decisions may affect your game play and interations. 13+ players are recommended and parents may want to be aware of these life and death decisions in the game.PPS. I may have to check, but I can't remember the last Time I gave a 5 star review,...if ever.

Exciting, visually stunning and brilliant.
Horizon Zero Dawn delivers a unique blend of fantasy and sci-fi, an immersive and interesting storyline, stunning graphics, and challenging (yet not irritably difficult) combat, as well as a vast, open-world map that does not fall short of incredible. Simply put, it is an amazing experience that I would strongly recommend to any PS4 owner. Solid 9/10.

Family fun
I am a grandmother nearing my 70's and was looking for a fun game to connect with the generations. I bought a PS4 not realizing most of their games are filled with nasty language. This game was well reviewed and i must say it is full of fun and adventure. I really like playing with the female character. My husband and 43 y/o son and 18 y/o grandson have expressed how impressive the graphics, cut scenes and game play is. I have stumbled over controls or felt bored in many children/teen games (including mine craft) but not this one. The game is quite good at introducing controls and the concepts of weapons and potions. It allowed me to stay in areas until I felt ready to move on. I was at level 6 while my hubby was at level 22, after 10 days of playing and we have had so much fun. My son earned level 20 in just 3 days, my husband is done and onto the Frozen Wilds and I am 7% done at level 20 now. What this means is that the game is geared to so many different tastes and doesn't disappoint. My husband wants to beat the game and enjoys fighting machines. My son wants to follow the main quest and enjoys taking out bandit camps. I want to ride the critters, gather resources and mosey around. My daughter, age 50 does the same and our grandson plays like his dad and grandfather. We spend many a family evening watching each other play, offering warnings and hints and advice and cheering their successes. The game has provided i sights into our personalities and how we differ in our methods but achieve the same goal. I would definitely recommend this for anyone past the concrete conception stage and capable of using the controls.
