Character Progression Trophies

Horizon: Forbidden West has 10 Trophies that are awarded upon completing various character development tasks such as levelling up, obtaining various weapon/outfit/bag upgrades and unlocking skills for use in-game. The majority of these are easy enough to unlock, but will take time to obtain due to the amount of XP required to be obtained in order to purchase upgrades.

Each time Aloy completes a main quest (or a few select side-quests) or levels up, players will gain a new Skill Point which can then be invested to unlock one of the upgrades in the Skill Tree upgrades page of the menu. Investing points in Skills will unlock new abilities, passive bonuses and other ability enhancements to make the game a little easier.

These Trophies include:

Combat-based Trophies

In addition to the focus on exploration, open world activities and collectibles, Horizon: Forbidden West also has a fairly large focus on its entertaining but challenging combat system. As this is the case, there are quite a few Trophies (10 in fact!) that are tied into finding and killing all available Machines, as well as unlocking and playing around with the games various weapons and techniques. Below you'll find a list of all of the combat-related achievements/trophies in the game and how to unlock each of them:

These Trophies include:

Achievement/TrophyHow to Unlock
Performed 3 Melee Combos

Successfully performed 3 different unlockable melee combos.

Stealth Killed 10 Machines

10 Types of Machine Overriden

Unlocked and used the overrides for 10 different types of machine.

As you progress through the main quest line, Aloy will unlock the ability to override some machines. To do so, we’ll need to sneak up on a machine without being detected and press and hold the override button as it appears on screen. When the override bar reaches capacity, the machine will have been overridden and will ally with Aloy.

Unfortunately, the main quest will only give you access to override a few basic machines, not enough for this Trophy. However, by tracking down and completing the Cauldron dungeons located around the game world, the list of machines that Aloy will be able to override will increase. Once you have the power, simply override 10 different machine types to unlock the Trophy.

All Machine Types Scanned

Miscellaneous Trophies

The following 6 Trophies were a little hard to narrow down into one of the other categories so they find themselves in the miscellaneous box. These require you to do some collectible hinting, use Dye Flowers to mix up Aloy's wardrobe, do some interesting things on machines and glide for a really, really long time without stopping. Without further ado, here are the related Trophies:
